Computation and the dynamical representation of information in
genomes and proteomes

It is well understood that there is information represented in the
string of nucleotides making up genomes. However, the way in which
information is encoded in molecular dynamics is harder to quantify. I
shall consider a few simple examples, including the replication
dynamics of microbial genomes, the memory storage properties of signal
transduction (ST) networks, and the filtering properties of ST
networks, to illustrate the ways in which information at higher levels
of molecular organization are stored.
