Overview of the Joint Institute for Computational Science

In September 2001 The University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National
Laboratory established the Joint Institute for Computational Science.  The
goals of JICS are to 1) strengthen and support computational science-related
research within UT and ORNL and 2) become a national research and education
center within UT and ORNL missions.  This presentation will provide an
overview of the current status of JICS and the role that it can play in
furthering computational biology and bioinformatics in Tennessee.
