Beyond Data Grids: Web Services and Algorithms for
Integrating Distributed Bioinformatics Data

Data integration is beginning to replace data mining as the fundamental challenge when working with distributed data. In this talk, we survey some recent work in data integration. We also survey some of the current and emerging service based infrastructures for integrating distributed bioinformatics data. We conclude by discussing some of the mathematics and computational challenges for data integration.
